Organic Pig Farm

Your stay with us will be an enjoyable one and if you feel like it, you can have a peak at the animals on our organic pig farm. Here they enjoy lots of space, fresh air and during the summer a laze in the mud pool.

During the first several years we kept free-range pigs but in order to earn a living from it, we had to do something special. In 1990 we switched from free-range pigs to organic pig farming. To this day, this type of farming proves to be great. It’s a nice manner of keeping pigs. It’s more labour intensive but to see the pigs having more space and enjoying their time in the straw is a fantastic sight and extremely satisfying.

We were one of the first companies that started an organic pig farm. For many people, and farmers alike, we were a stranger in our midst. When we started, we kept around 35 to 40 sows, now we keep an average of 95 to 100 sows.

In 2008/2009 we built a new sow barn because the old barn did not meet the new European standards. The sows with new-born pigs now have a run out. This is mandatory as of 2010. We hope to continue farming in this manner, because it gives us great satisfaction and pleasure.
